Daring the rapids of the National Whitewater Center, Flint
Site Operations Manager Simon Wright and Assembly Manager
Pete Challenger organised two crews of Headland Foods fundraiser's
to take part in a whitewater raft race in June. The teams
raised £2,000 towards a new lifeboat and crew training
for the RNLI at Flint.
The race involved more than 40 rafts negotiating a mile-long
course of rapids. Simon said: “Everyone had a fantastic
time.”
and there’s more…
A cheque for £3,600 raised by 26 staff and directors
on a tough sponsored walk was presented in May by Pete Challenger
to Flint’s Lifeboat Operations Manager, Alan Forrester.
Managing Director Peter Wall and Simon Wright – who
shared the thrills of scaling local peak Moel Famau in fierce
winds and rain - also attended the presentation at the Flint
factory.
In addition, a group of Flint employees raised £400
for the fund on a 20-mile Coastal Walk in June, bringing the
grand total from Headland Foods events to £6,000.
