Whitewater rafters emerge triumphant
Daring the rapids of the National Whitewater Center, Flint Site Operations Manager Simon Wright and Assembly Manager Pete Challenger organised two crews of Headland Foods fundraiser's to take part in a whitewater raft race in June. The teams raised £2,000 towards a new lifeboat and crew training for the RNLI at Flint.

The race involved more than 40 rafts negotiating a mile-long course of rapids. Simon said: “Everyone had a fantastic time.”

and there’s more…

A cheque for £3,600 raised by 26 staff and directors on a tough sponsored walk was presented in May by Pete Challenger to Flint’s Lifeboat Operations Manager, Alan Forrester.

Managing Director Peter Wall and Simon Wright – who shared the thrills of scaling local peak Moel Famau in fierce winds and rain - also attended the presentation at the Flint factory.

In addition, a group of Flint employees raised £400 for the fund on a 20-mile Coastal Walk in June, bringing the grand total from Headland Foods events to £6,000.
